Ashes2Art Paper Mâché Casting and Open Studio Class!

March 23, 2021 @ 7:30 am 11:30 am

Ashes2Art Paper Mâché Casting and Open Studio Class!

Ashes2Art is offering a Paper Mâché Casting class, and the Open Studio class will follow afterward. We will make bowls with fun fluid strips of paper mâché, bring grungy clothes because we will be getting messy. Later, we will mess around with materials and explore mandala-making techniques. All class participants will receive a Mindful Decon kit which includes fun experiential-based items to assist in grounding and stress relief to keep you “fit-for-the-fight.” WE are proud of these kits!

Looking forward to getting together for some laughs, listen to music, and create together. (And maybe even decrease a bit of that bothersome cumulative stress at the same time.)

Ashes2Art offers a safe, fun platform for first responders to experience the benefits of the creative arts as a means to stay “fit for the fight.” The state of Virginia has listed our organization as a recommended source for resiliency strengthening, so why not join us in fun?!! Just show up when you can, even if it is to say “HI”!

**AFTER CLASS: Kathy will teach a sensory psychology technique used to activate a delta brainwave state which is the deepest and slowest of the brainwaves. Please stay after or reach out for more information!

Please sign up for one of the classes and bring your mask with you to class. We can’t wait to see you in person! Creativity is an essential and fun strengthening tool for resiliency.  First responders rely on their innate creative strength professionally with each emergency call; Ashes2Art cultivates that same creativity on a personal level.

The creative arts’ impact on health has scientifically resulted in improvements in cortisol levels, stress relief, bi-lateral brain activity, emotional release, self-confidence, and life longevity. The World Health Organization (2019) conducted research of over 3,000 studies concluding that the creative arts have a positive impact on one’s health.

Ashes2Art is a nonprofit organization based in Northern Virginia that is available to all first responders. For more information or to schedule a class, please call Kathy Sullivan (843) 737-3373.
